General Overview of accommodation facilities, recommended venues
There are over 200 accommodation facilities of
different kinds in Sochi. The total accommodation capacity of the resort
region constitutes roughly about 63 000 guests. Data on seasonal boarding
houses and camps are not available, as many of those facilities normally do
not function on an on-going basis. Reasonable estimations of Sochi potential
is nearly 3 mln arrivals per year. Many tourists rent lodging from residents.
Since 1990 the number of tourism accommodation facilities has increased. A
recent development is the growing number of small private B&B hotels and
bigger conference venues.
Hotels are mostly
high-rise structures. Most of them were constructed in the 70-es and the
80-es in the style fashionable at that time, with well-designed frontages, fitting
nicely into the landscapes. Today the city hotels have certificates of safety
and grades. One of Sochi hotels is a 4-star hotel, 3 hotels claim to be a
3-star-hotel, the rest are 1- and 2-star hotels. The rooms are standard
single and double rooms, and suites, each has a private lavatory, bathroom
(with a bath or a shower), a balcony, a telephone, a TV-set (for rent), and a
refrigerator (for rent). 3 meals a day are supplied at the hotels
restaurants. Optional facilities at the hotels include: restaurants, bars,
shops, excursions, hairdresser, massage, First Aid, and Taxis. Trips are sold
mostly through travel companies and on site.
Radisson SAS Hotel
The most exquisite 4-star hotel in Russia on the Black Sea coast. The hotel
can host business meeting, workshops and conferences in a variety of venues
(with 15, 65, 120, 220, 250, 500 seats). Those are small rooms for
negotiations, bigger halls for seminars and press-conferences, a number of
conference halls with conference equipment. There are 300 rooms, 2
Presidential villas, 4 two-bedroom villas, 17 suits, 39 deluxe rooms. Air
conditioning, satellite TV, mini bars, telephones in each room. There is a
Business Center, a Fitness Center, swimming pools, tennis courts, a
volleyball court, a private beach, a car rental with drivers services,
restaurants, bars, a night club.

Hotel "Zhemchuzhina"
The best location, next to the Winter Theatre (2000 seats), very close to the
Sea and the business center of Sochi. Meeting halls and conference rooms of
different capacities (20, 60, 90, 450 seats). 982 rooms, a parking lot, 6
restaurants, 15 bars with live show programs, a swimming pool with sea water,
sports grounds, billiards, a pebble beach with many facilities. The Hotel is
a large exhibition site and a venue for conferences all the year round.

Hotel complex "Dagomys"
"Dagomys" is the largest and the best-known resort hotel complex on
the Black Sea coast of Russia since the 1980s. It became particularly
successful after international conferences in the beginning of Perestroika
and the recent Summits hosted by RF President Vladimir Putin. The Hotel
offers the comfort of a modern hotel and the sights of beautiful landscapes:
tea plantations, countryside cottages, ever-green mountains, the Black Sea. The
park, which surrounds the Hotel, is over a century old. "Daromys"
offers the best conference venue in Sochi, with facilities for simultaneous
translations into four languages (600 seats, adjacent smaller meeting rooms
for 40-60 seats, the catering facility designed for coffee breaks and buffet
lunches.). This popular place of big events is situated 12 km from the city
center of Sochi. Public transportation, taxis, hotel shuttle buses provide
easy communication between Dagomys and other parts of the city. The Service
Bureau is always ready to advise and book for you entertainment, air or rail
tickets, a car for rent, the guides and interpreters, tickets to concerts,
etc. The "Dagomys" Business Center provides computers with access
to Internet, fax and photo copying services, international calls. The Hotel,
in fact, is a big hospitable city in a little suburban settlement.

Hotel "Neva International"
"Neva" is conveniently situated in the heart of the city. It offers
rooms in a range of categories: from modest standard rooms - to two floor suits.
Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sport complex, bars, a restaurant, a night
club, a conference hall (400 seats), genuine hospitality of the stuff.

Hotel "Moscow"
This Hotel has always been popular among business guests of Sochi, for its
central location and moderate prices. However, it is going to be developed
within two years into a fascinating business complex, which will serve all
needs of conference organizers and meeting planners.

Resorts are the most popular accommodation facilities in Sochi. The first spas
and resorts were constructed in the beginning of the century. Most of resorts
were constructed in the 30-es and the 50-es. They are beautiful palace-like
structures, with carpeted comfort, nicely packed into the local landscapes. They
are monuments of architecture, forming the unique image of Sochi. Accommodation
is provided in single or double rooms and suits. Meals are served on a
regular basis at the restaurants of the spas. The main product is health
treatment with spa water, baths, gymnastics and other nice methods. All
resorts have outstanding diagnostic and balneological treatment facilities. The
flows of holiday-makers come from big enterprises, which own the resorts and
book rooms well in advance. Each resort has facilities for sports, a beach,
an agency offering excursions. The services vary in quality. Many resorts
(called in Russia 'sanatoria') changed their profiles, stepping back from
multi-purpose health recreation schemes, and not insisting any longer on the
24-day-long service cycle of health resort programs. Many have switched to
the quite conventional profiles of boarding facilities, offering plans of
shorter stays, or acting as sites for conferences, exhibitions and workshops.
Health recreation is no longer the main Sochi product. Resorts are convenient
conference venues in the off-season period, and business tourism is given
particular attention in their strategies. The most prestigious high class
resorts and conference venues are "Zelyonaya Roszha" (Stalin's
dacha), "Rodina", "Rus", "Sochi",
"Odysseya".
Resort "Russ"
Central location. "Russ" is a luxury resort, which offers a wide range
of comfortable newly redesigned single and double rooms in the palace-like
buildings of the 1930s. The Resort has one of the best conference halls,
which gradually develops into an important Business Center popular among VIP
guests of the city, international conventions, and the biggest Russian
corporations as a place for successful meetings and conferences (with maximum
capacity of 450 seats in the Assembly Hall, with on-site conference equipment
and supplies) . VIP Hall 40 seats, Banquet Hall 50 seats, Press center 80
seats, Jazz Hall 200 places for walking, buffet or reception, Exhibition hall
500 m2, a restaurant 240 seats for banquet, a restaurant 400 places for
walking buffet or reception. The conference center is build 5 years ago and a
new multifunctional building called "Summer Theatre" will be
finished within six months. The Resort has a big park with evergreen trees, a
wide beach within a walking distance from the resort hotel buildings,
restaurants, and other facilities of the Resort. At your service are also
indoor and outdoor swimming pools, trips to the mountains, reservations for
cultural events and performances. The quality of services follows
international standards introduced at the Resort by the Dutch manager in
charge of customer care and strategic development.

Resort "Odysseya"
This resort is after the name of Odysseus - the legendary ancient greek who
discovered the most beautiful coasts of the Black Sea and dedicated romantic
stories to its wonders. The "Odysseya" resort is one of the most
recent constructions with all modern facilities, including the Business
Center and the Conference Hall. 160 rooms. The Resort is located right on the
beach, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. A perfect place to
focus on business contacts and interests.

Camping sites provide budget tourist-class accommodation in Sochi. The location of
campsites tends to be along the roads, closer to the sea, away from the city
centre. There are 1- or 2-story buildings or cottages which provide single,
2- 3-, 4-bedded rooms. Toilets and showers are in outhouses. There are no
telephones, but there are TV-sets and Refrigerators for hire. The main
product is leisure-time on the beach, hiking trips, short sport events
organized for youth.
Boarding houses are located in remote places of the coast. Boarding houses operate in
summer, prices are quite affordable for budget travelers. Most boarding
houses offer accommodation in modest 2- and 3-bedded rooms. Those are for
tourists who spend days on the beach. Many boarding houses belong to
particular industrial enterprises of Russia, and as a rule places at the
boarding houses are sold by their owners, not by travel agents. Many boarding
houses introduced health treatment services to meet the specific demand of
their guests. Boarding houses also serve as venues for inexpensive incentive
trips. There are some boarding houses, though, that compete with resorts by
comfort, services and prices.
Hotel "Vesna" (Boarding house)
The tourist+ Hotel "Vesna" is situated in the southern part of the
Sochi resort, 10 minutes from the airport. Cozy single and double rooms,
transfer, beach, restaurants, a parking lot, a conference hall (300 seats),
banking and other facilities. This is a nice place for a business weekend in
Sochi.
